Cercestis mirabilis, often called the African embossed aroid, is an African aroid that was officially described in 1985 by Josef Bogner.
It gained significant popularity in the houseplant community approximately two years ago.
In the wild it grows as an epiphyte, scaling through the tree canopy. Cercestis mirabilis undergoes a transformation in its leaves as they mature, losing their distinctive silvery markings and increasing in size.
